Name of Artwork: New York - From Past to Present
This drawing illustrates the architectural development of New York
from 1730 onwards, with a particular focus on the natural beauty of
the Brooklyn Bridge overlooking the city landscape. The 1730 and 1800
sections of the drawing were done using a specific design technique on
the part of the artist. The 1883 portion was drawn and redesigned
using old engravings. The 1938 portion was inspired by a large
variety of photographs from the period, aiding the artist in
completing the work. Each of these sections are in and of themselves
unique designs.
This piece of art was a product of 2 months of research, and the
drawing itself was completed in 9 days.
Detailed charcoal technique: 0.35-0.5 2h-h hb-2b pencils were
utilized. The dimensions are 18"x24".
